Vikings Beat Hillcrest, Now 7-0 In the Ozark Conference

The Lady Vikings went on the road to Hillcrest on Tuesday, and won 7-0. Parkview is now 7-0 in the Ozark Conference, and 13-2 overall.

Freshmen Emily Courtney started at outside mid for Parkview, and got the scoring started for the Vikings on an unassisted goal. Courtney also scored the Vikings’ third goal, by beating two defenders to earn a wide open chance inside the 18. These were her first Varsity goals of the season. Shelby Stewart also picked up two goals and an assist, and now leads the team in total points (30), with her 12 goals (tied for first with Loderhose) and 6 assists (second to Maerz’s 7 assists).

The Vikings were able to hold the ball on the Hornets’ side of the field for the majority of the match, while still being able to rest some players with two more games coming up on both Thursday and Friday. Parkview has one of their final two Ozark Conference games on Thursday, on the road at Waynesville.

The JV Vikings also beat Hillcrest, with a final score of 6-0. The JV kids are now 3-5-5, and 1-1-2 in their last four, after beating Hillcrest, losing to Glendale, and tying both Kickapoo and Catholic.

Five different players scored for the JV girls. Mary Langebartel dominated offensively in the first half, scoring the first two Viking goals early in the match, and picking up an assist later as well. Marie Maize, Becca Castillo, and Sayra Villela all scored their first goals of the season.

The Vikings will go to Waynesville on Thursday, with a JV kickoff time of 5:00pm, and the Varsity squads to follow around 6:45pm start.

Senior Night for Parkview will be on Friday, May 7th against Ozark. The match will be played at JFK.
